Couples Counseling in Washington, DC
Couples Counseling in Washington DC Rooted in Compassion and Connection
Relationships are complex, beautiful, and sometimes, really hard. If you and your partner are struggling to feel close, to communicate without conflict, or to rebuild after a break in trust, you’re not alone. As a trauma-informed couples therapist in Washington DC, I work with partners from all walks of life to help you reconnect, grow, and feel heard.
You’re Not Broken—You’re Just Stuck. Let’s Work Through It Together.
Couples often come to therapy feeling like something is broken—the connection, the communication, the intimacy. But more often than not, you're not broken. You're just stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you're arguing more, barely speaking, or feeling emotionally distant, these are signs of deeper needs going unmet.
Together, we’ll explore those patterns and begin shifting them in a way that fosters empathy, clarity, and real repair. I bring a warm, culturally responsive lens to my work, helping each partner feel safe, seen, and supported. I offer couples counseling in both English and Spanish, and I affirm LGBTQ+ relationships, non-traditional partnerships, and all forms of love.
A Trauma-Informed Approach to Healing Relationships That Matter
So many relationship struggles are rooted in unspoken pain—past trauma, attachment wounds, or learned patterns that show up in conflict or disconnection. I approach couples counseling through a trauma-informed lens, meaning I consider the whole person and the history each partner brings into the room.
Whether you’re dealing with communication breakdowns, intimacy struggles, betrayal, cultural clashes, or external stressors (like parenting or immigration), our work will move at a pace that honors safety and trust. You won’t be blamed or judged. My role is to support you both as you grow more aware, more skillful, and more connected.
What to Expect in Couples Counseling
We begin with a free 30-minute virtual consultation to get a sense of your needs and whether we’re a good fit. From there, sessions are typically 50 minutes long and may include individual and joint conversations, structured exercises, and space for reflection.
We'll focus on:
Improving emotional and physical intimacy
Learning tools for conflict resolution
Rebuilding trust after betrayal
Navigating big transitions like parenting or separation
Understanding how past experiences shape present reactions
Our goal isn’t perfection—it’s deeper connection and conscious, compassionate relating.
Is Couples Counseling Right for You?
If you’re wondering whether this is the right time or whether therapy can really help, ask yourself:
Are we having the same arguments over and over again?
Do I feel misunderstood or disconnected from my partner?
Have we experienced a rupture that we don’t know how to heal?
Do we want to stay together, but don’t know how to make it work?
If any of these resonate, therapy can help you find clarity and healing.
Ready to Reconnect?
Whether you’re hoping to repair, reconnect, or decide the future of your relationship, couples counseling can offer a safe space to explore what you both need. As a trauma-informed couples counselor in Washington DC, I’m here to support your journey.

Absolutely. Many clients find virtual therapy just as effective as in-person sessions. Through secure, video-based platforms, we can establish a strong connection and create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing. Virtual therapy offers the same high-quality, personalized care, with the added convenience and accessibility of meeting from your own space. It’s especially helpful for clients with busy schedules, those in remote areas, or anyone seeking flexibility in their mental health care.
